and that, folks, is why they usually weigh the Labour vote around here.

The  time……..This morning

The place……..Tesco, Durham, by the newspaper stand

The slightly stunned observer……Yours Truly

An ordinary woman, accompanied by her young daughter, approaches the laid out dailies and red-tops on the news stand. Views the repeated photos of Prime Minister May on the front pages of just about all the newspapers, drags her daughter away from the Daily Mail, the Sun, the Scotsman, the Telegraph, the Daily Express, whilst repeating, and I swear this is true: “No, thats Treason; that is Treason, no, leave it be, that is treason!”

I am sometimes accused of having a closed mind. I can only reply that at least I have a ‘mind’; and sometimes I even agree with opponents; but never have I accused any political opponent of Treason.

Such labels are simply an excuse to prevent having to challenge your own ideas. The Left do this a lot. It prevents cognitive dissonance – waycist, for the cheeldren, progressive, liberal – the whole caboodle. It all protects them from having to think.

I have not seen those front pages, so I ask, was she right?

In fairness, a decade and a half ago I might have been saying much the same, at photos of the then prime minister.
